This Privacy Policy explains how Buildryt Private Limited ("Buildryt", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit buildryt.com (the "Website") or contact us by web form, WhatsApp, phone or email about building a home. It is published in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

1. Who we are

Buildryt Private Limited is a house-construction services company serving customers in Bengaluru and Mysuru. For the purposes of the DPDP Act, we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described in this policy.

2. Personal data we collect

We collect only what we need to respond to you and to plan and deliver your project.

Information you give us:

  • Contact details: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number and city.
  • Project details: plot location, plot size and dimensions, the type of home you want, budget, preferred package, timelines and any drawings, photos or documents you choose to share.
  • Messages: what you write in enquiry forms, WhatsApp chats, emails and what you tell us on calls.
  • Cost estimator inputs: the plot, built-up area, floor and specification choices you enter in our cost estimator.
  • Referral details: if you refer someone under our referral programme, your details and the name and phone number of the person you refer. Please tell the person before you share their details with us.
  • Job applications: if you apply to join us, your CV and the information in it.

Information collected automatically:

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring website, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
  • Cookies and similar technologies, described in section 9.

We do not ask for passwords, bank or card details, biometric data or other sensitive personal data through the Website. Please do not send us such information unless we specifically request it for a signed contract.

3. How we use your personal data

We use your personal data to:

  • respond to your enquiry, call you back and share information, quotations and estimates you ask for;
  • arrange site visits, consultations and design discussions;
  • prepare proposals and, if you proceed, plan and deliver your construction project;
  • run the referral programme, including verifying referrals and paying rewards;
  • send you project updates and, where you have agreed, information about our packages and offers;
  • operate, secure and improve the Website, including preventing spam and misuse of our forms;
  • understand how visitors use the Website so we can improve our content and service;
  • evaluate job applications; and
  • meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations and protect our legal rights.

4. Consent and legal basis

We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you submit a form, message us on WhatsApp, call us or otherwise share your details with us for a stated purpose. Where you enter into a contract with us, we also process data as needed to perform that contract. We may process data without consent only where the DPDP Act permits it, such as to comply with law or a court order.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to care@buildryt.com. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out, and if you withdraw consent we may be unable to continue with your enquiry or project.

5. Who we share your data with

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only as needed for the purposes above:

  • Service providers who help us run our business, such as website hosting, form handling, email, telephony and messaging, customer relationship management, analytics and cloud storage providers, acting on our instructions.
  • Architects, engineers, contractors, consultants and suppliers engaged for your project, limited to what they need to carry out their work.
  • Professional advisers such as auditors, lawyers and accountants.
  • Government authorities, courts or law enforcement where required by law.
  • A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition or restructuring, subject to this policy.

Some service providers may store or process data outside India. Where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data is protected and we comply with any restrictions notified by the Government of India under the DPDP Act.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. As a guide:

  • enquiries that do not proceed to a contract are kept for up to 24 months from our last contact, then deleted or anonymised;
  • customer and project records are kept for the duration of the project and for the period required under tax, accounting and construction-related laws, and to handle warranty claims;
  • job applications are kept for up to 12 months.

7. How we protect your data

We use reasonable security practices consistent with the IT Act and the SPDI Rules, including access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted staff access on a need-to-know basis and agreements with service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India of a personal data breach where the law requires.

8. Your rights

Subject to the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

  • Access: ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
  • Correction and completion: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data or update it.
  • Erasure: ask us to delete personal data we no longer need, unless we must keep it by law.
  • Withdraw consent: withdraw consent you have given at any time.
  • Grievance redressal: raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer.
  • Nominate: nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity.

To exercise these rights, email care@buildryt.com from the email address or phone number you used with us, or write to us at the address in section 1. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

9. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to make the Website work, remember your choices and understand how visitors use it. These include:

  • Essential cookies needed for the Website and forms to function.
  • Google Analytics, which collects information such as pages visited and time spent to help us improve the Website. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile, which helps us tell people from automated bots on our forms. It may process device and browser signals for this purpose.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Website works.

10. Children

The Website and our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has shared personal data with us, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Third-party links

The Website may link to third-party websites and services such as WhatsApp, Google Maps, YouTube and social media. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.
